Activity 3.2.1 - Natural Resources Review

Energy Resources Concept Map:

Energy Resources are different ways of getting energy so that our environment can generate electrical power. Energy is the capacity to do work and is most importantly required for life processes. Above I have made a concept map focusing on energy resources and what the differences are between having renewable sources and non-renewable sources come into effect. Renewable energy, often referred to as “clean energy,”comes from natural sources or processes that are constantly replenished. Non-Renewable sources, or “dirty,” energy includes fossil fuels such as oil, gas, and coal taking a long time to replenish. Most of the energy we use today comes from fossil fuels, but fossil fuels have a disadvantage in that they are non-renewable on a human time scale. Fossil fuels even though they provide energy for our environment, it can also cause harmful effects to the environment as well. This activity broadened my perspective on how human life is retrieving their energy knowing that the consequences will be within our environment. Since we know more about fossil fuels corrupting our environment, I have listed renewable sources and made sure to be descriptive for us to know how it helps our environment. I hope my concept map broadens your perspective on why it is important to have energy resources in our life, as well as how it can be better not only towards the environment but how we view it ourselves as humans to be more aware of how we get our daily energy sources.
